Odette brushed Eve's brother's hair out of his face and grumbled.

"The only thing I can t-tell you is that there's a d-difference between good magic and bad magic. And however they do it, the p-people that run Lakeshore keep the b-bad magic out. Or at least at bay."

[Liam Farrell]

Eve nodded, smiling faintly at the comforting gesture. She nodded at Odette's words. "I hope so. Thanks for listening to me. There's not many people who know I exist, and even fewer I can talk to without having Liam speaking for me. I think you're the first besides Liam, actually."

She nibbled at the last of her cheesy bread, knowing she should get Liam back to bed soon but reluctant to bring it up.
