Trying something new (student lounge -- open)

Sarah shifted position in her armchair, then dug out a ball of dark blue yarn from where it had gotten wedged between the cushion and the arm of the chair. With the other hand she pushed her hair out of her face, then picked up her newest project again. It was going to be a scarf, but right now she wasn't sure she'd be done it before spring rolled around.

Single stitch, double stitch, single, double, single... so far it wasn't that hard. At least with crocheting there was only the one hook to keep track of rather than a pair of needles. She wasn't yet sure about switching colors to add bronze stripes, but she didn't have to worry about that for a lot of rows still.

The yarn slipped from her lap and rolled across the room, leaving a blue trail in its wake. "Scheisse," Sarah muttered, standing up and moving to retrieve it before someone tripped over it.
