Allan looked around, frowning a little. He didn't need the Sight to know there was chaos on the horizon, and the question remained whether he should try to keep it in check or just escape while he had the chance.

"Yes, do behave, for your own sakes. I don't want to see anyone hurt, and I'm sure neither does Ellie. It may be her job, but that doesn't mean we should set out to give her more work."

[Frog Rosenfeld]

"We promise we'll clean everything up and we'll be super quiet and everything and pleaseIjustwantcookies," Frog whimpered, leaning against Tebryn's arm. "I just want a snack and then I promise I'll go back to my room."

[Il Tebryn]

Tebryn gave the back of Frog's neck an affectionate squeeze. "You'll get cookies. And we won't poison Himmel-hyung. And Blaise can lick the spoon."

He looked over his shoulder at Allan as he ruffled Himmel's ears with his other hand. "We won't make a mess. We've been here for years and nothing has exploded yet."

Pause. "Well, there was that one time, but that was Sam's fault."

[Blaise Des Rosiers Park]

Blaise draped himself over one of the chairs and thew a leg high over the armrest. "Just put my share of the dough in a bowl uncooked," Blaise grumbled, before flattening himself on the table. "An' maybe a big glass of milk."

[Il Tebryn]

"Bowl of dough, no problem." Tebryn regarded his shiniest brother with a dominant turn of his head. "The milk, you can get yourself." He smirked and started measuring things into the biggest mixing bowl he could find.

[Jaymie Elderton]

Jaymie couldn't sleep. It wasn't anything in particular... well, it kind of was. Living in a magical castle in the middle of a mystic otherrealm never got old exactly, but it wasn't home. There was way more rain, for one, and it was chilly sometimes, and drafty, and instead of having a big room to himself he had to share with a guy who didn't sleep and got sugar all over the place sometimes.

And when that happened, and he felt tired and sick and both like calling his Mom and like he should be way too old to want to call his Mom, there was only one cure: comfort food. And so Jaymie headed down to the cafeteria in the hopes of making some macaroni and then putting it in the deep freezer for a bit so he could pretend it was leftovers.

Apparently, tonight, there were like six people in there already. Most of which were his roommate and his roommate's brothers. He paused in the door and yawned deeply.

[Blaise Des Rosiers Park]

Blaise groaned and dragged himself back to his feet with great strain, as if his body weighed far too much for him to move comfortably. (Which it didn't, at least not right now.)

"Some family," Blaise grumbled, mostly to himself, as he clumsily fished a glass out of one of the cabinets. "Hey, d'you think Vero has any iced coffee stashed in here somewhere?"

Blaise stuck his head into the refrigerator and rummaged around with several worrying clinking and clattering sounds. Then — "Jackpot!"

Blaise pulled a plastic pitcher out of a back, hidden compartment. "Definitely iced coffee. Think it's alcoholic?" He leaned in and sniffed it, then made a face. "Nope, just regular coffee."

He glanced over at the door just in time to see the newcomer and shook the pitcher of coffee in greeting. He recognized him vaguely as Frog's roommate, but knew very little else about him. Except that he was cute. Which, really, Blaise didn't need to know much else. "Are you sticking around? Because if so we're gonna need more cookies."

[Frog Rosenfeld]

"Oh, hey, Jaymie!" Frog waved a spatula at Jaymie. "These are my brothers. We're baking cookies, you want some?"

Frog opened the container of baking powder and dipped a finger in, then stuck it in his mouth. "Ew, that's disgusting." He looked at Tebryn with a face that was thoroughly offended and betrayed. "Why would you put that in cookies?"

Tebryn raised an eyebrow and handed Frog a paper towel. "Baking powder is a key ingredient in any kind of baked treat." He lowered his voice to a conspiratorial stage-whisper. "If you don't add a touch of baking powder, the food comes to life and tries to eat you."

He straightened and continued to mix. "Ask Rhythan. He'll tell you."

[Blaise Des Rosiers Park]

Blaise took a long swig of iced coffee straight from the pitcher before shoving it back into the fridge, grabbing the milk, and actually pouring it into a glass. (Normally he didn't make a habit of drinking straight from pitchers or cartons or whatever, but if Vero's going to hide something where he can't find it, she probably deserves a little backwash with her coffee.)

"Baking powder is something you can't taste but the cookies will taste like shit without." Blaise sat his glass of milk on the table before plopping back down into the chair. "Unless, you're just eating dough. Tebryn-ah, how long before this batter is ready?"

Jaymie just stared around the room, looking at each of them as they talked. Siblings. Siblings were such a weird idea.

...He was probably half-asleep. He stretched his arms over his head and scratched his back.

"Cookies? Sure, why not. I was gonna make some mac 'n' cheese... What kind of cookies?"

Allan made a horrified noise as Blaise drank iced coffee straight from the pitcher, but the crowd of students prevented him from snatching it away as he had with the doll-boy's sugar. At last he threw up his hands and turned back toward the door. "That's it, I'm out. At least until later." He'd come back when this lot had decided to leave. For now he'd sweep the mess hall proper to stay within earshot.

[Il Tebryn]

"Initially, snickerdoodles." Tebryn shrugged. "But I might add extra sugar and make them thinner so that we can make little ice cream sandwiches."

[Frog Rosenfeld]

Frog looked up from the baking powder — which he suspected was probably some kind of mass conspiracy that they'd been tricked into believing, because there was no way anything that tasted that terrible was necessary for cookies — just in time to see Allan leave.

"Aw, we were gonna share with you!" Frog looked put-out, and seemed like he might have said more on the matter until — "Wait, did you say ice cream sandwiches? We can MAKE those?"

[Jaymie Elderton]

"Snickerdoodle ice cream sandwiches?" Jaymie blinked. That sounded almost as good as cold macaroni. "I can get behind that. Need any help? Is there like... cinnamon or cookies 'n' cream ice cream to use in them?"

Jaymie went towards the big deep-freezer and poked around in it. "So- I'm guessing you're Blaise," pointing to the gold one, "and that would make you Tebryn, right?" pointing to the dark-haired one. "Frog's family?"

"We should be able to work with plain vanilla-- we're most likely to have that, anyway."

He looked at Jaymie and nodded. "The puppy is our oldest brother Himmel, and we're missing Sam. But yeah, we're Vero's boys."
