How does your garden grow? (open)
"...Beyond the Sun, beyond the Moon, the foam was on the Sea,
And by the strand of Ilmarin there grew a golden Tree.
Beneath the stars of Evereve in Eldamar it shone,
In Eldamar, beside the walls of elven Tirion..."
Vincent sang not quite under his breath as he knelt in a corner of the courtyard, a spade in his hand and the potted mallorn beside the hole he was digging. He'd found a perfect spot, where the tree would get plenty of sunlight, and offer bountiful shade when it was big enough. If this was anything like the mallorn from Sam Gamgee's garden, it shouldn't take too long at all. And perhaps those with suitable magics could help it along further.

Kemekin heard a light tune carried on the breeze and decided to investigate. He found Professor Vincent Hawk, kneeling beside a sapling that looked familiar, but that Kemekin couldn't place.
"What're you up to, Professor?" A grin curled across his face. Vincent was a good friend of his aunt's, and he had always liked the man. Whenever Vincent was involved, things were bound to be interesting.

Vincent paused in his song as Kemekin spoke, and looked at the young man with a grin. "Just a bit of fantastical gardening. What about yourself?"

Kemekin tipped his head and joined the professor by the potted sapling. "Just biding my time before my next class. Why does this look familiar?"
He reached out and gave one of the delicate golden blossoms a gentle touch. It looked similar to a young birch, but there was something more magical about it.
Granted, they were so close to the Arcadia borders that everything was at least a little bit magical. Hell, Kemekin was part tree.
Kemekin looked over the still-budding leaves and squinted. They had a silvery tint on the bottom. Suddenly it hit him.
"Is... Is this one of those Mallorn trees...?"

Vincent beamed and nodded. "It is! Brought to existence by yours truly. I'm hoping to have a grove of them someday, if this one gives nuts. Then again, singing more into existence would be fun."
